RoboXR – AR Safety Zones
Visualisation of safety zones in AR

Customer requirements

Illustration of a robot’s work area simplifies

  • Safety inspection of the robot cell
  • Documentation  of the inspection process
  • Training in the various characteristics of HRC: coexistence, cooperation, collaboration

Solution

  • Viewing the work areas stored in the robot controller in AR
  • Work areas are shown as green/yellow cubes, and the safety zones as red cubes.
  • Superimposition of the physical robot cell with the aid of the AR application with the following representations:
    • Robot’s work areas shown as green/yellow cubes
    • Safety zones of the safety cell shown as red cubes
    • Protected tool areas of the robot shown as orange “safety” balls

How the customer benefits

  • Comprehensive representation of the safety zones of the entire robot cell and of the robot
  • Realistic representation of the safety configuration in AR through direct communication between the configurations installed in the robot controls and the visual implementation in the game engine
  • Realistic safety inspection of the robot cells
  • Simplified form of record keeping – photographic documentation is taken straight from the AR application
